Okemo State Park Doesn’t Disappoint on Outdoor Recreation

Okemo Mountain in southern Vermont is among the top hiking and skiing destinations in the Northeast. Featuring world class views stretching for miles and some of the best powder you will carve in your lifetime, Okemo Mountain is a must have on any enthusiast’s list.

With expansive views of the Black River Valley from the 3,340-foot summit, the Okemo Mountain features an extensive trail network, which features the Healdville Trail. The trail is 5.9 miles round trip and is a fantastic intermediate option.  It is complete with many lookout vistas and fire towers, allowing you to break up your hike and take it all in.

The gradual trail ascent on Okemo Mountain features amazing views of Mt Holly and the Green Mountain chain. It is a much wooded hike with a lot of shade and brooks along the way with a well-balanced interval of inclines and plateaus. The hiking features very little rock and is great for anyone seeking a leisurely day trip with breathtaking views.
